How we look after the personal information you give us when you get a quote or book a move.

Who we are
AG Removals is a removals business based in Wolverhampton. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us the "data controller". You can contact us about anything in this policy by emailing agremovalsltduk@gmail.com or calling 07745 361424.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
- Move details: the postcodes you're moving from and to, your moving date, the items you're moving, stairs and access, and anything else you tell us.
- Payment details: when you pay a deposit, your card is handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation of the payment and the amount.
- Messages: anything you send us by WhatsApp, phone, text or email, including photos of your home or items.
- Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic information such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
- To give you a quote and carry out your move (performing our contract with you, or taking steps at your request before entering one).
- To take your deposit and keep payment records (contract, and our legal duty to keep financial records).
- To send booking confirmations and reminders, and to contact you about your move (contract).
- To deal with questions, complaints, damage or insurance claims (our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, and legal claims).
We do not sell your information, and we will not send you marketing messages unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted services that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Stripe, to process deposit payments securely.
- Google (Gmail, Calendar and Sheets), where we keep booking records and send emails.
- Netlify, which hosts our website and receives booking forms.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.
- Our insurers, accountant or legal advisers if needed, for example for a claim or our accounts.
Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Completed bookings and payment records: 6 years, because tax rules require us to keep financial records.
- Quotes or bookings that didn't go ahead: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Photos you send us: deleted once your move is complete, unless needed for a claim.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted (where we don't need to keep it by law), to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email or call us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
Cookies
Our website remembers small things in your browser to work properly, such as your cookie choice. These are essential and don't track you.
When you first visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use cookies. If you tap Accept, we use Google Analytics to see how people find and use our website, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure how well our adverts work. If you tap Decline, neither is switched on. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
Google and Meta may process this information as described in their own privacy policies. We don't use it to identify you personally.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
